I am nominating my late mother. I don’t know if I can nominate a deceased person but I’m going to give it a shot. She past away March 21st, 2011 from a 10 year battle with cancer. I am nominating her because she touched so many lives through her job as a high school counselor, active member in the Church, supporter of the community in which she lived (Kindred, ND), and most importantly, a wonderful mother who taught her family that giving up is not an option and no matter what, stay positive and to treat others with the upmost respect and that kindness is a way of life. Everybody who knew her can attest to her astounding personality and the warmth she brought with her smile. Her students from Detroit Lakes, MN can also attest to her unbelievable will power and ability to cope with anything. A couple of students from Detroit Lakes made a documentary of her and this is the link to it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BOP-dXExBqk. Also, a couple of other students are doing a bike race for Janell Girodat in June. This race is 200 miles from Toronto to Niagara Falls. I just believe my mother is the most beautiful woman I have ever met and I think, even though she is not with us on this earth, that she will always have an impact in the lives she has touched and people she has come in contact with. Please consider this nomination because many people would agree, Janell Girodat was/is a Beautiful Woman.
