I am nominating her because she touched so many lives through her job as a high school counselor, active member in the Church, supporter of the community in which she lived (Kindred, ND), and most importantly, a wonderful mother who taught her family that giving up is not an option and no matter what, stay positive and to treat others with the upmost respect and that kindness is a way of life. Gayle is the mother of a 33 year old autistic son, Brett. She has dedicated herself to caring for him. She has gone to great lengths to learn as much as possible about Autism and has done much to help him cope with his fears and obsessions. I’m not going to write too much lest Gayle wonders what I’m up to here! (Marvin Gustafson, Roseau, Minnesota)
