For those of you who’ve been waiting to read the stories of the beautiful women in our community, wait no longer. Since last Monday, we’ve received more than 50 nominations of “Beautiful Women.” By beauty, we’re talking REAL beauty, that which comes from “being in your finest hour,” true inner beauty. Sara has endometriosis–a very painful disease with no cure. She has tried to manage the disease with multiple drug therapies and surgeries. Endo has taken so much from her–dreams, jobs, school, relationships, a chance to have biological children. Although she has lost so much, she has never let the disease win. Mary is devoted, caring and honest. She is a wonderful wife of 34 years to her husband, Mike, and a doting mother to her 4 grown children, Kris, Kim (Matt), John (Andrea) and Karissa. She holds a special place in her heart for her two grandsons, Hunter and Connor, and her granddaughter, Anna. After many years as a stay-at-home mom, Mary opened a letter from a pharmaceutical company asking Dr. Lillestol to participate in a clinical research trial on Osteoporosis. Penny McLagen

Outside of being a highly educated and successful professional, she is a mother of three children who are 13 years, 10 years, and 5 months. All three of her pregnancies were difficult with our first being 3 1/2 months premature and 1 pound 10 ounces. She passed the CPA exam 7 months pregnant with our second and she was on bed rest and 38 years of age with our youngest son. Jennifer Anderson

Jennifer grew up in Thief River Falls, MN, graduated from the University of Wisconsin, and has lived in Fargo for 13 years. She is employed at Prairie St Johns’ Hospital and is in her last semester for her Master’s degree in Social Work. Jennifer has always been a champion for women’s rights and issues.
